PedalPoint Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PedalPoint (“the App,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) handles information when you use the App on your iPhone or iPad. We wrote this policy to be a plain, accurate description of what the App actually does.
Summary
PedalPoint does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. The App does not require an account, does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting software, and does not access your microphone, camera, photo library, or location. All sounds used in the App are built-in audio assets created by us; the App does not import or process audio from your device or surroundings.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information. Specifically:
- No account or sign-in is required to use the App, so we never collect a name, email address, or password.
- The App does not use any third-party software development kits (SDKs) for analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash reporting.
- The App does not request or use microphone, camera, location, or photo library access.
- The App does not include in-app purchases or any payment processing.
Sounds and Settings Stored on Your Device
PedalPoint includes a library of custom-made sounds built into the App itself. The App does not record, import, or analyze any audio from your device’s microphone or media library.
When you create or adjust note/sound settings within the App, those settings are saved locally on your device in a JSON file. This file is stored only on your device and is not automatically sent to us or to any third party. We have no access to it.
Sharing Your Settings (Export Feature)
PedalPoint lets you export your saved settings as a JSON file using Apple’s standard share sheet (for example, to send the file via Mail, Messages, AirDrop, or save it to Files). This only happens when you actively choose to tap the share or export option — the App never shares or transmits this file automatically or in the background.
Because this feature uses Apple’s built-in share sheet, the destination you choose (such as Mail or AirDrop) is handled by that system service or app, not by us. We do not receive a copy of any file you choose to share this way.
Children's Privacy
Because PedalPoint does not collect any personal information from any user, this includes children. The App is safe for use by users of any age with respect to data collection, as no data is collected at all.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any information, because we do not collect any in the first place. The App contains no third-party advertising networks, analytics libraries, or tracking technologies of any kind.
Data Security
Since all settings created in the App remain stored locally on your own device and are never transmitted to us, there is no server-side data of yours for us to secure. Standard iOS/iPadOS device-level protections (such as your device passcode and encryption) protect this locally stored file, the same as any other file on your device.
Your Choices
You can delete your locally saved settings at any time by removing them within the App or by deleting the App itself, which removes all associated local data from your device.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change what data the App collects or how it behaves, we will update this Privacy Policy and revise the effective date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
